I wanted to share some showroom pics from the last few weeks! It is always changing . . . (We bring our boys, Chauncey and Hank, to help rearrange sometimes. Everyone loves a good puppy pic!) Some of these pieces have sold and some are still available - click here to see current inventory! We will be open this Sat 10am-3pm! Come by to see us & our new inventory!
- A Where is the time going?! It's almost Halloween! COVID time is weird. The Mad About Modern home tour was last month! It looked a lot different this year - we went completely digital! We are on the MAM board that organizes the tour through the Charlotte Museum of History every year and are regular sponsors. We also staged one of the homes (Markway) for the 360 tour. Here are some pics from the day we staged. It looked fabulous!! Here are a few of my favorite pieces to pass through the showroom recently. . .
SO things are looking different around here - and pretty much everywhere else right now. COVID-19 has rocked small businesses everywhere and we are so glad and thankful to still be operating! Our new normal has been curbside / no-contact exchanges. Whether that is someone picking up a piece of inventory that they're purchasing, dropping off a restoration job, or picking one up - it's all going down outside. Nick and I are very grateful to our loyal customers / restoration clients for continuing to shop with us and their understanding our new [for now] policies (I try to make the situation as cute as possible with a little hand written thank you tag and a cheerful wave through the window lol.) Right now is the perfect time to get that restoration job done - while you're spending more time at home. Make that home beautiful & a place for you to be able to enjoy & relax! The same goes for buying that new piece of furniture that you've been wanting! If you see anything you would like to look at in person in our inventory we can arrange that for you with a no-contact meet-up.
I know things are weird right now but as my grandma says - This too shall pass. Y'all stay positive, safe, and kind! - A It is New Years Eve Eve! This year flew by for us - so much to be thankful for! Our decor for Christmas - love doing simple green garland on the storefront. We had 2 aluminum trees in the showroom for about a week - one was for sale and didn't stick around long. We decorated our aluminum tree with plain glass balls - it looked so cool and simple. These pieces are all available in the store now - click the inventory tab for details! We have some smalls that are pretty cute - available on the accessories page for $25 and under. $50 MIRRORS - accessories page for measurements & more mirrors! I figured it was appropriate to share some of my favorites from this year (I know I missed a lot but in reality if I put all my favorites in this blog it would be way too long for anyone to enjoy)! - Adrian Pearsall Sectional - Walnut Sculptural Wood Wardrobe - Paul McCobb Credenza - Pair of Thonet Chairs - Lane Acclaim Snack Table - Jack Cartwright Credenza with Slate Top - Walnut Slat Bench by Mel Smilow - Teak Wardrobe with Brass Hardware - Lucite and Wood Bar - Iron and Wood Dining Set -Floating Walnut Dresser - Arthur Umanoff Bar Cart - Walnut and Brass Credenza

OH and join our newsletter - I send out an email every Friday with new pieces [enter your email address at the bottom of our home page]! Happy Halloween! - A We love seeing our pieces in their new homes! I want to share some of my favorites from recently and a few before & afters. This teak wall unit is looking good in it's new home - the record storage was a huge draw for them! (pic 1 in our showroom & pic 2 in it's new home) I loved this dining set so much! It is the ideal breakfast table - so simple and modern! Look at it being perfect in it's new home! This walnut credenza didn't last long in our showroom! I didn't even have a chance to post it on social media before it was scooped up! Our customer is using it to store his bourbon and cigars. How cool does that look?! When we first saw our customer's walnut and lucite coffee table base it had a huge crack in the top piece of walnut and was a darker brown. We refinished and repaired it and the grain really pops now! In it's new home with it's top and that rug - OOH WEE that looks good! This is such a drastic before and after! It is one of my favorite client pieces we have done! It needed a ton of repairs - the panels of mahogany were separating completely on the sides. Nick fixed it right up and completely refinished it! Look at those legs! This teak bar was so cool! Like a transformer! HELLOOOO Pearsall! This chair is so amazing and we just happened to have this Dux ottoman that the walnut looked perfect together! They didn't stick around long - will be heading to their new home in Tennessee soon! Before / After on Walnut floating chest Before / After on Franklin Shockey dresser From plaid to FAB! Our clients in NYC chose a really cool faux sherpa for this Pair of Wood Frame Lounge Chairs by Guy Rogers and it looked so good with the walnut frames! SWOON!

Click here to visit their website for tickets and more info https://www.madaboutmodern.com/ - A These are a few of the pieces we have worked on and have sold in the last few weeks! They were all refinished by Nick - and of course looked fabulous! The Jack Cartwright credenza's picture (2nd picture) was also styled by Nick - complete with Boba Fett. The Lane Acclaim "snack table" (3rd picture) was the cutest thing I have ever seen (and that Monstera is the most perfect plant I have ever owned)! These are all pics of the showroom recently - it is always changing - pieces leaving and coming in constantly keeps it looking fresh! The dresser and chest were both refinished with formica tops and looked great! Their lines are so simple and perfect - they went to different homes even though they matched but stand great on their own! The acrylic coffee table is really cool - it's a little different than the pieces we normally get but I just loved it so much when we saw it (seriously if it fit in our living room it would be at the house)! It is still available so scoop it up! THIS SLAT BENCH - completely solid and refinished! Y'ALL please look at these details. I am drooling! A slat bench is the perfect piece for an entry way or coffee table (just throw a tray on the top with some coasters and you are golden) - even at the end of your bed! Possibilities are endless! This teak beast sold as soon as we listed it! Nick completely refinished it & it had a plinth base that has some damage so we cut it off and added new legs. It gave it a more modern look! The hardware on this thing was amazing! Check out that before picture (#1) of this Hooker desk! It looks amazing after Nick refinished it! This Eames Soft Pad chair is the most comfortable desk chair I have ever sat in. Seriously.
This walnut desk was painted when we found it! You never know what you will find under the paint! Look at that finished front on the desk YUM! I hope you have a great 4th of July! We actually have a little sale going on right now - check it out (click inventory tab)! - A This Lane Brutalist coffee table was really rough when we first got it! It was a really muddy brown color and had lots of scrapes and scratches. Nick completely refinished the whole table and it looks beautiful! Look at these fantastic before and after pictures! This pair of maple Thonet chairs was in BAD shape - check out the grunge in those before pics! They really glow after Nick refinished them. This credenza got new walnut veneer on it's top and a full refinish - Nick did amazing (as usual) matching the color of the new veneer with the old (it tends to color differently because of age). THIS beautiful beast - those drawers! Paul McCobb for Calvin Furniture Irwin Collection - this baby is heading to NYC! When we found this piece it looked like someone attempted to refinish it at some point - there were a lot of burns in the veneer so we re-veneered the top, sides and doors. Show stopper!
I hope everyone has a great week! - A |
