Can we talk about Oriental rugs for a second? They are hand-made (which is mind blowing - like how?!), the colors are absolutely amazing, and they have a ton of character! I'm loving mid century design paired with Oriental rugs! The clean lines in mid century pieces and the beautiful woven details in the rugs go together like peanut butter and jelly. We have all seen those rooms full of beautiful mid century modern pieces - but something seems to be missing. When you add in a rug with a beautiful pattern - neutral or colorful - it grounds the furniture in your room. It makes your room seem more "thought out" / finished & less sterile. If you have a carpeted room - I know what you're thinking... "I can't use an area rug in here because I can't put carpet on my carpet". NO. You better put that carpet on top of your carpet! When we bought our house we had every intention of changing the living room carpet to hardwoods. But then life happened - we started a business and stuff - so that kinda got put on the back burner. (I'm also pretty sure if I start another home renovation project right now, Nick may lose it. Painting the whole house and ripping our entire kitchen out "fixer upper" style should hold us over for now - I'll do a post about all that later!) SO in our living room we have a really big, bright rug over our regular carpet - and it looks fantastic. Don't be scared. If you have issues with your rug slipping around, double sided carpet tape does the trick - you can get it on Amazon (what can you NOT get on Amazon...duh) or at Lowes. It seriously makes the biggest difference in your room. We do have a selection of vintage Oriental rugs available now (all of the beauties pictured above included)! You can come look at them in store or if you're not local, we ship! Pictures and measurements are in the inventory section! OH! & we totally just marked them all down!
