We've been busy making things beautiful for client owned pieces & adding new pieces to our inventory! Check this out... These Lane Acclaim pieces were fully refinished & the grain on them is amazing! The round coffee table sold quickly to a customer that happened to see it in the store while purchasing another item! Nice! The side tables are still available as of today! Scoop them up - you know they would look fabulous in your living room. We refinished these end tables for a client. I love these tables. They are simple but their X bases add a little funk. The first 2 pictures are a table that was delivered back to it's home with a refinished top! It isn't midcentury modern but I still think it was a really cool piece & worked perfectly in their home! The teak table on the right was shipped to NY for a customer. It was purchased from our inventory - had a really convenient butterfly leaf and was in amazing original condition! This chest was GLOWING after it's refinish. It was for some of our first clients - they are building their dream house on the water so have been collecting pieces that they love! We can't wait to help them with more pieces!
We would love to help you refinish your pieces or find the perfect new (old) pieces for your space! Contact us and let us know what you need! -A

This year we had the pleasure of being on the committee for the MAM (Mad About Modern) Mid Century Modern Home Tour (09/09/17)! We worked with a great group of people to plan and met so many new people through the whole experience! We also worked with a few of the designers in the Designer Showcase Home and they borrowed some pieces from us for their rooms in the home! Everything looked so fabulous! I took pictures of my favorite areas in each home on the tour! The first 2 pictures were at 2236 Ferncliff Road - the kitchen had the original cabinets from 1955. They are amazing and the owners updated the whole look a little (without taking away the existing tasteful charm) by adding a really trendy backsplash (LOVE)! Their downstairs bathroom was SO GOOD. All the textures - exposed brick (which was featured throughout their house and it was amazing), the wood vanity & contrasting countertop, and the marble shower tile... SWOON! The last 2 pictures are from 6508 Trenton Place - you KNOW we were loving the furnishings in these 2 rooms. That teak sideboard in the dining room is everything & the colorful rug really made everything pop! The kitchen had a pedestal table with 4 Eames shell chairs on eiffel bases (we have a few of these that will be making their debut in our inventory soon)! I love how they mixed the chair colors! These pictures were from 6827 Folger Drive. I loved the rectangular trellis on the front of the house! They had some really good chairs too - this Selig "Z chair" & Eames lounge chair are staples of MCM style! The last picture is information on the home - classified as an "Echo Research Home". Our favorite house on the tour was 3517 Johnny Cake Lane. The inside of the house was amazing - you could tell that the owners really had a love for mid century modern furniture (we completely related to that)! Their stairs were walnut and just floated to the next floor (I would TOTALLY mess my clumsy self up on them... too much of a hazard for me personally but I really appreciate them haha). THE KITCHEN was round and fabulous. It was just a home run.
We had so much fun planning with the MAM committee, being part of the designer showcase home, and touring the homes! We are definitely looking forward to the next tour! We will keep you updated with details as we know them. -A We worked in the store to rearrange and make it easier for our customers to see all of the beautiful pieces that have been refinished / are in line to get some Fos magic (SO cheesy I KNOW but I love it)! The pieces that are stacked have not been worked on - but it was work getting them stacked. If you saw me you would wonder how the heck I do it. . . it's girl power. (Nick hears this a lot - "who's gonna help you move this?!" Me. I can do it. WHAT?!) Our goal is to have the front section (pictured above) of the store all refinished & the back to be more of a pre-order section. It's a work in progress! The workshop is full of exciting projects! Some have been pre-ordered from our (unfinished) inventory, a few are customer jobs, and others are inventory pieces that I can't wait to photograph & add to the website! I love seeing transformations in the workshop! Nick is such a perfectionist - he gives 110% with everything he does and it really shows in his work! The MAM Midcentury Modern home tour is coming up! Last week we attended an event at the Charlotte Museum of History , "Modernism: Why It Matters". It was so interesting! We heard from keynote speaker, Dr. Peter Wong and a panel of design experts. They spoke about midcentury modern architecture, lifestyle, and design.
If you haven't bought your ticket to the tour - click here - you DO NOT want to miss it! (AND we will be closed this Saturday 09.09.17 because we will be rocking it at the home tour ^. If you want to schedule an appointment at the store this week - or anytime - give me a call and we will set it up!) -A |
